Cassandra’s lover was laying in front of her, dying. “Cassandra… please don’t fret that I’ll be gone… smile because we knew each other in the first place,” Hana said with a smile, face stained with tears.

They were trying to comfort their girlfriend. “My dear… I’ll always live on in your memories…” Cassandra was tearing up, holding her dying joyfriend. “I… I can’t let you go Hana! You are the only light in my life!” Cassandra managed to choke out. The tears were pouring out now, and she couldn’t stop them.

“Don’t leave me! Please don’t!” She yelled out. Hana was the one person who she trusted. Cassandra couldn’t lose them. She just couldn’t. They had known each other for years, and were the loves of each other’s lives. Cassandra couldn’t let them go like this. Not yet.

Hana managed to support themself close enough to Cassandra to give her a kiss before speaking what would be some of her last words. “Hey, did I ever say that you *did* make my dream come true..? And you didn’t even need your power…” Hana said with a smile before continuing her confession to a crying Cassandra. “You did it by making me happy, and so I fell for you, my darling.”

“I’ll see you in another life.”

They noticed how hard she was crying now, and continued trying to comfort her. “Hey, hey, it’s okay. It’s okay to be sad, it’s okay to be in pain. I know it must be tough being alone in a world like this… just let the tears flow down your cheeks…”

Cassandra held Hana close, not letting go. “It’ll be okay… but now listen to me, listen to my final plea… don’t bring me back, this is how it’s supposed to go.” Cassandra tried responding, but all that came out was a strained cry. “It’s okay, my darling.”

‘It’s okay…’ those are the words that rang through her ears. Hana tilted Cassandra’s head towards her, before giving her a gentle kiss on the lips.

Cassandra didn’t show up to the funeral. She was too broken to do so. The little bit of Hana’s family that they were close to showed up, and a couple friends.

Months have gone by, and Cassandra is significantly less happy and bubbly. She’s a bit dull, if anything…

She stopped by Hana’s grave with flowers. She sat there for hours, crying and reminiscing of their good times. It was hard to see their name on the tombstone like this…

But it’s all she could do to keep her lover’s name alive.

Die Sonne spielte mal wieder mit – ausnahmsweise – zeigte sich der Mai doch häufig nicht von seiner wonnigen Seite. An diesem Morgen aber schon.
